What is protected?
When a package protected by Extend Shipping Protection is lost, stolen, or damaged, Extend can help.
Extend Product Protection starts after delivery and covers accidental damage starting on day one and failure after the manufacturer’s warranty expires through your chosen term.
What if I need to return my product?
If you return your product, we return the amount you paid for product protection. Depending on how much time has passed since your purchase, you may receive a prorated refund, less any paid claims.
Shipping protection is non-refundable.
How do I file a claim?
It’s simple. Contact Extend online 24/7. Most issues are resolved in minutes and after approval, Extend will send you all of the details to resolve your issue.
What is shipping protection?
If you have purchased shipping protection from your retailer, your package is protected in case of loss, damage, or theft during shipment. Shipping protection protects packages shipped to the United States, Puerto Rico, and Canada. Extend administers shipping protection on behalf of the retailer.
When does my protection start and end?
Shipping protection starts once the package is shipped and ends when the package is in your hands, or once the issue is resolved. Shipping protection ends when:
- Your package is delivered to your final destination undamaged
- Your package doesn’t reach you, you file a claim, and that claim is approved or denied
- Your package arrives damaged, you file a claim, and that claim is approved or denied. Your package is protected from damage incurred during shipment and delivery. You have 60 days after delivery to submit a claim. Damage incurred after delivery is not protected.
What happens if my package is lost, damaged, or stolen?
After approval, if your package is lost or stolen, you may receive a gift card for the value of the product (plus shipping costs and taxes) so you can order a replacement. If your product arrives damaged and depending on the level of damage, a full or partial refund via a gift card may be provided or the product may be repaired. In some instances, a replacement may be shipped directly to you.
What do I need to file a claim?
We’ll ask you to tell us if the item(s) were lost, stolen, or damaged. We may ask you for more details and documents including:
- Photos of the damaged items, packages, or packing material
- A police report or video surveillance footage
If you aren’t able to provide these documents within 60 days, we may deny your claim.
Can I cancel my shipping protection?
If your order hasn’t shipped, contact the retailer to adjust the order. If the order has already shipped, a refund cannot be provided.
Once in effect, shipping protection cannot be canceled by you. The retailer or Extend may cancel the shipping protection in cases of fraud, material misrepresentation, or non-payment by you. Extend may rescind the shipping protection product or refuse to accept claims from individuals who Extend suspects have committed fraud or who otherwise pose an unacceptable risk of loss, as determined by Extend in its sole discretion.
Extend will provide notice to affected individuals and will refund amounts paid for shipping protection which has been rescinded by Extend. Such individuals will no longer be eligible to receive shipping protection. If your shipping protection has been rescinded and you would like to dispute Extend's determination, please contact us at https://customers.extend.com/contact. Shipping protection may also be canceled by the retailer or Extend if required by a regulatory authority.
Can I transfer my shipping protection to another item I bought?
No, shipping protection is not transferable to other items not originally protected at the time of purchase. If you want to add shipping protection to a recent purchase that hasn’t shipped yet, contact the retailer.
